JL Texture UV Free
Tri-planar mapping for native SketchUp materials
Texturing complex shapes in SketchUp means fighting the native tools one face at a time. JL Texture UV puts tri-planar projection in your right-click menu: select a face or a whole group, and the texture aligns across all three directions at once, written straight into SketchUp's native UVs.
What it does
- Tri-planar projection, three directions at onceBoxes, parts and irregular shapes get continuous texture flow — no per-face work.
- Two modes for real jobsWorld projects at the texture's true size (great for wood-grain walls); Fit maps the selection to 0–1 (great for posters and light boxes).
- One-click mirror correctionFlip U or V to fix wood, stone or fabric direction fast.
- Rotate UV (swap U/V)Turn the whole texture with a single command.
- Recursive on groups & componentsSelect a group and inner faces are handled; instances of the same definition update together.
- Native UVsIt writes SketchUp's native face UVs, so the placement is visible, saved, and survives a change of renderer.

FAQ
- Do I need any other plugin?
- No — it runs standalone. It writes SketchUp's native UVs.
- Organic surfaces?
- Built for regular shapes (boxes / panels / walls). For heavily organic models, use a dedicated UV-unwrap tool.
- Does it change my material?
- It only changes the face's UV placement, not the material itself.
- What about components?
- Instances of the same definition update together (that's how SketchUp works); you're warned first.
